Eric Miller
Eric Miller chose photography as an art medium because initially photography was the tool that created access to the political process of the period in South Africa (1980's).
The camera was the crowbar that opened a space for Miller to be at funerals in the townships, protests around campuses and communities. Over the years, while the values that underpin his work remain the same, his vision has slowly started shifting to the more lyrical, tangential definition of how the society around him is located.
One of the strongest values recognised by the manner and manifestation of Millers work is the respectful engagement he has with his subjects and the people he works with, which allows his audience access into their lives.
