Whilst studying in Edinburgh, Kathy won various prizes for her work, including a silver award and a commendation at The Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths' Design and Craftsmanship Awards in 2004 and 2005 respectively, and a commendation at The Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths' Silversmithing Award 2006.

Graduating with a first class BA(hons) degree in Design and Applied Arts in 2006, Kathy was awarded the Helen A. Rose Bequest for distinguished final year work and the Edinburgh College of Art Chairman's Medal for "A contribution to the Degree Show which was innovative, beautifully designed and executed as well as consistently high performance throughout the course of study."

* January 2003 - Awarded the First Year Prize by the Edinburgh College of Art School of Drawing and Painting.

* February 2004 - The Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths' Design and Craftsmanship Awards 2004, Silver Award in Fashion Jewellery 2-Dimensional Design Section.

* June 2004 - Awarded Michael Grant Travel Award of £170 by the Edinburgh College of Art Centre for Visual and Cultural Studies.

* February 2005 - The Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths' Design and Craftsmanship Awards 2005, Commended in Platinum 2-Dimensional Design Section.

* June 2005 - Departmental award for high standard of work in Portfolio section of course.

* January 2006 - The Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths' Silversmithing Award 2006, Commendation for the design of a Dragon Fruit Bowl.

* February 2006 - Received The Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths' Precious Metal Bursary Award.

* March 2006 - The Scottish Branch of the Gemmological Association Innovative Use of Gemstones Award 2006, Highly Commended.

* June 2006 - Marcia Lanyon Stonesetting Competition, awarded 1st prize.

* June 2006 - Edinburgh College of Art awarded the Helen A. Rose Bequest for distinguished final year work and best degree show.

* July 2006 - Received the Edinburgh College of Art Chairman's Medal for "A contribution to the Degree Show which was innovative, beautifully designed and executed as well as consistently high performance throughout the course of study."

* November 2006 - Awarded the Stephen Maer Award by the Designer Jewellers Group.
